Ericsson MediaFirst Video Processing introduces a new hardware platform that has been designed from the ground up with optimized Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), reduced deployment footprint and operational costs. The Ericsson Custom Hardware 2 platform fits seamlessly into operational centres with front to back cooled airflow minimizing space requirements. Designed for high resilience operation providing 24/7 operation and in field maintenance and expansion.

Ericsson Custom Hardware 2 is designed to meet current and future broadcast needs with impressive Statistics; 6Gbps of transport stream processing power as standard; 6 media processing slots for future functionality expansion; multiple 1/10GigE interfaces; native optical and copper 10GigE connectivity; and the ability to route up to 15Gbps internally (more than raw UHDTV).

Designed to run Ericsson MediaFirst Video Processing Encoding, Stream Processing and Management software applications, the Custom Hardware 2 platform provides a simplified deployment model by running multiple capabilities on a single platform, and therefore reducing complexity.
A thermal and power efficient design allows dense deployment, reducing rack space, power, cooling and weight requirements. Ericsson Custom Hardware 2 provides a high density solution at a very competitive price point, allowing scalability from the most demanding down to all but the most simple applications. Capable of processing up to 6Gbps of compressed media as standard with 6 media processing slots for future expansion.
